This tissue, called endometrial implants, may grow on the ovaries, fallopian tubes, or other pelvic organs.
During the menstrual cycle, these implants may break down and bleed, leading to inflammation, pain, and the formation of scar tissue. Symptoms of endometriosis can include pelvic pain, painful periods, pain during intercourse, and fertility issues. It’s a chronic condition that may require medical management or surgical intervention for relief of symptoms.
